Parenting and Power

About the Training

Power is inherent in every relationship. This includes the relationship between parent and child. We see it all the time as adults. We are in charge, but our children are separate people from us. It is a relationship that requires balance.

I believe that all parents are doing the best that they can with the knowledge they have. We all have a common goal of raising healthy, successful (this part is defined differently by each human), well balanced children. The more understanding we have of our children, their development, and our role, the more capable we are of meeting our goals.

The Parenting and Power course is an introduction to the role power associated with parenting. In this training we spend 4 full days unpacking what parenting role power is and how to use it wisely and well. There is so much power as a parent, and finding the right balance now can help your relationship with your children as they get older.

An experiential learning opportunity to explore and deepen your understanding. Key topics include what is power, how does it relate to parenting, and ways it shows up in your everyday interactions. You will learn to handle challenging behaviors and invest in relationship by managing conflict, inviting feedback, and developing parenting skills.
